EOBI Pension Calculator

Enter your average monthly wage and years of insurable employment to estimate your EOBI monthly pension — or the one-time old-age grant if you have under 15 years of service.

Your average monthly wage over the last 12 months of insurable employment — the figure EOBI uses in its formula.

Total years your employer paid EOBI contributions for you. Decimals are allowed — 14.5 years counts as 15.

Only used for the pension-age note: 60 years for men, 55 years for women.

The Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) is Pakistan's federal pension scheme for workers in the private sector, created under the EOBI Act 1976. If your employer was registered with EOBI and paid monthly contributions on your behalf, those contributions build your right to a monthly old-age pension. The NexToolz EOBI Pension Calculator applies the official formula so you can see where you stand long before you retire.

The formula is simple: monthly pension = (average monthly wages × years of insurable employment) ÷ 50, where the average wage is taken over your last 12 months of insurable employment. Since 1 January 2025 the minimum EOBI pension is Rs 11,500 per month — if the formula gives you less, your pension is raised to Rs 11,500. There is no maximum cap, so longer service and higher wages keep increasing the pension. To qualify for the monthly pension you need at least 15 years of contributions; a court ruling counts 14.5 years as a full 15. The pension age is 60 for men and 55 for women.

If you leave insurable employment with at least 2 years but less than 15 years of contributions, you do not get a monthly pension — instead EOBI pays a one-time old-age grant equal to one month's average wage multiplied by your years of contribution. This calculator handles all three cases automatically and tells you which one applies to you. Remember that the final amount is always decided by EOBI's own record of your wages and contributions, so treat every result here as a careful estimate, not a promise.

Frequently asked questions

How is the EOBI pension calculated?
EOBI uses a fixed formula: monthly pension = (average monthly wages × years of insurable employment) ÷ 50. The average wage is the average of your last 12 months of insurable employment. For example, an average wage of Rs 60,000 with 20 years of service gives (60,000 × 20) ÷ 50 = Rs 24,000 per month.
What is the minimum EOBI pension?
The minimum EOBI pension is Rs 11,500 per month, effective 1 January 2025. If the formula result for your wage and service is lower than Rs 11,500, your pension is raised to Rs 11,500.
Who qualifies for an EOBI pension?
You need at least 15 years of insurable employment (contributions) — and a court ruling counts 14.5 years as a full 15. The pension age is 60 years for men and 55 years for women.
What happens if I have less than 15 years of service?
With at least 2 years but less than 15 years of contributions, you receive a one-time old-age grant instead of a monthly pension. The grant equals one month's average wage multiplied by your years of contribution. With less than 2 years, neither the pension nor the grant applies.
Is there a maximum EOBI pension?
No. There is no maximum cap on the EOBI pension. The amount keeps growing with your average wage and your years of insurable employment — only the Rs 11,500 minimum floor is fixed.

Why use this tool?

Most insured workers in Pakistan have no idea what their EOBI pension will actually be until they retire — and the formula, the Rs 11,500 minimum and the old-age grant rules are rarely explained in one place. This calculator applies the EOBI Act formula instantly, tells you whether you qualify for a pension or only the grant, and shows the difference a few more years of service would make.
