CGPA to Percentage converter

Percentage = CGPA ÷ 4 × 100. This is the simple proportional conversion — note that universities may apply their own equivalence formula, so always confirm against your university's official table when it matters.

Your GPA decides scholarships, distinctions, and often your first job shortlist — but working it out by hand from a transcript is slow and error-prone, because every course carries different credit hours. The NexToolz GPA Calculator does the weighted maths for you: add each course with its credit hours and the grade you earned, and it returns your exact semester GPA on the 4.00 scale.

The formula is simple: for each course, multiply the grade points by the credit hours, add those products together, then divide by the total credit hours. A 3-credit A+ (4.00) therefore pulls your average up three times as much as a 1-credit course with the same grade. The scale used here — A+ 4.00 down to F 0.00 — is the one most Pakistani universities follow, though a few institutions adjust individual grade points slightly, so check your own university's table for official figures.

The page also includes a CGPA to percentage converter for the many forms and job applications in Pakistan that ask for marks in percentage. It uses the standard proportional formula (CGPA ÷ 4 × 100). Everything runs in your browser — your grades are never uploaded, stored, or shared.

Frequently asked questions

How is GPA calculated?
For each course, multiply the grade points by the credit hours. Add all those results together and divide by the total credit hours. That weighted average is your GPA out of 4.00.
What grade scale does this calculator use?
A+ 4.00, A 3.70, B+ 3.30, B 3.00, B- 2.70, C+ 2.30, C 2.00, D 1.00 and F 0.00 — a common Pakistani university scale. Your university may differ slightly, so check its official grading table for exact figures.
How do I convert CGPA to percentage?
Divide your CGPA by 4 and multiply by 100 — for example, 3.50 CGPA becomes 87.5%. Some universities apply their own equivalence formula instead, so confirm with your university when an official figure is required.
Does an F grade count in the GPA?
Yes. An F is worth 0 grade points, but its credit hours still count in the total, which is why a failed course pulls the average down. Rules for repeated courses vary by university.
What is a good GPA?
It depends on your goal. Scholarships, universities and employers each set their own cut-offs, and a GPA that is strong in one programme may be average in another. Check the specific requirement you are aiming for.

Why use this tool?

Weighted GPA maths is exactly the kind of calculation that goes wrong on paper — one missed credit hour skews the whole semester. This tool shows the totals behind your GPA (credits and grade points), so you can verify it line by line against your transcript before you quote it on a form.
